See our Winter dates below
Following the success of our Summer art classes with local landscape artist Georgie Watson, we have introduced a series of sketching and printmaking classes at our Hobbyist room in the Globe Inn Marsh in Rye . You will start by work on sketches for your print in the morning, looking at other work for inspiration and sketching from a selection of Autumnal grasses, seed heads and berries which represent Autumn over the marshes. Following a delicious lunch, you will work on some experimental printmaking, using techniques that can then be further developed at home... All materials will be provided, no experience is necessary and you will return home with a portfolio of work including your very own print. The perfect opportunity to design your own Christmas cards or a unique Christmas gift!!
“A lovely, relaxing, yet highly productive day. After some ‘warm-up’ sketching, we had opportunities to try different print-making techniques, or to concentrate on just one area if preferred. Everyone was so friendly, and the pub lunch was delicious! The course has re-awoken my creative streak and given me the confidence to carry on print-making at home" - Kate
Strictly limited to 6 people per course, 10am-4pm at £95 per person including coffees, refreshments, lunch and all materials. Bookings can be made at events@ramblinns.com
What Our Customers Say?
“Such an interesting and enjoyable day. Georgie is a great teacher, gentle and encouraging, and makes everything very clear. She was able to pitch the teaching to all the different levels of experience present, starting with helpful warm - up exercises in the morning, then painting 'en plein air' in the churchyard across the road in the afternoon. Lunch was a delicious bonus and the whole experience totally delightful and well-organised. I'd recommend it to anyone, beginner or improver.”

I'
About Georgie Watson
I observe the ever changing beauty of the environment around me and express it through a variety of mediums. My initial sketches are made out in the field and the final paintings and prints evolve in the studio.
I have grown up with a passion for water sports and so much of my work reflects this close connection with the wind and sea. Nothing excites me more than the forecast of a storm with powerful south westerlies hitting our shore.
